Networking Group Guidelines
Board approved 8/28/07
Purpose of Chamber Networking Groups is to provide a more in
depth networking opportunity for as many members as possible.
Mission of said networking groups shall be for each member
involved to be dedicated to helping all of the members in their
group grow their business through qualified referrals.
Membership and Leadership
A. Members
Must be an approved member of Chamber in good standing prior to
participating actively in any networking group.
There shall be no more than one type of each business
represented in each group with no duplication of representation
into more than one networking group by any one business entity.
Each group shall have flexibility of allowing or disallowing
participation of a business or entity by a vote of the majority
of its members.
Potential new members will be allowed to visit to the group with
no referrals until membership approved by Chamber Board.
VP of Networking shall maintain a waiting list of businesses
that desire to participate in a networking group.
B. Leaders
One Group Leader - keep group motivated and organized, run all
meetings
One Membership person - new member profiles and orientation,
track all referrals monthly
One Secretary - all group communications and attendance
Networking Group Activities
A. Meetings
Each group shall meet once a week unless otherwise noted by the
group leadership.
Networking Groups shall establish absentee and referral policies
Geographic location of group meeting location is to be approved
by Chamber Board of directors
Any changes in meeting location, time, or day shall be conveyed
to Chamber Board of Directors, VP of Networking , and Webmaster.
Meeting location, time, and day shall not conflict with other
established networking groups of the Chamber
B. Social Meetings
Networking groups must obtain prior approval of Board of
Directors to conduct special social meetings.
C. Qualified Referrals
Qualified referrals shall be defined as:
Person giving referral must have contacted the referral prior to
giving the referral
Person being referred must know that they will be contacted soon
and have expressed a need or desire for the product / service.
Marketing and Advertising of Networking Groups
A. Networking groups can market and advertise their group
B. Each group shall be responsible for monetary costs of such
endeavors
C. Prior approval of such material by the Board of Directors is
mandatory.
Networking groups and the Internet
A. Chamber webmaster shall maintain a special "Networking Group
Web Page" and make available web pages for each group under the
Chamber Domain Website.
New Networking Groups
A. A New Networking Group can be established by petition to the
VP of Networking and after approval by the Board of Directors.
B. VP of Networking shall supervise the building of such group
once approved.
Monitoring of Activities and Grievances of Networking Groups
A. VP of Networking shall be responsible for monitoring
activities of all groups by attending group meetings throughout
the year and reporting back to the Board of Directors once per
quarter.
B. Any and all grievances by members of the Networking Groups
shall be brought to the attention of the group leadership team
first. If not resolved, then brought to the attention of the VP
of Networking, and finally to the Board of Directors. |
